Essex and Rochford District Off Road Club

This is my local club site and I really quite like it. It's quite a challenging site which keeps you on your toes as it's quite compact amongst trees with a bit of everything within it. I started going down there with my Mrs when I first started offroading in our SJ410 and met our good friends James...

Re: SJ410 clutch kit needed

I have a Santana - 1988 which has the clutch that you do not want - I've got a Motoquip one, if I can find the box in my garage I'll post their part number as it will help you narrow it down a bit.

Re: help

re: the little black bung ... My mate got me one I think from a main dealers for little money but that has gone missing now, so I just don't bother as they don't stay in for long.

I'm a bit late with this but a new pump at Eurocarparts did not cost much more than £30 which came with a new gasket!!!

Re: Vitara Engine mounts in a 410

Look at Muddyzook.com as they sell a converstion kit for the Vitara engine and there is a comment on there that it will fit the 1 litre engine also. I'm not so sure but they might have found a way. All of the conversions I have seen before are to fit a 413 gearbox and I've been told that the transmi...

Re: T box oil bungs

That would be my suggestion too, if you can't weld, pop it down to a friendly garage that can do it and ask them nicely.

Re: wheel bearings!!

did you check the races that the bearings run in and change them if necessary. If the old wheel bearings in the hub were shot, it's probable the races they ran in have been damaged and will quckly ruin your nice new wheel bearings and could be responsible for the droning as that is what could well b...

Re: Valeo starter motor siezed, stuck and cracked :(

Eurocar parts is the place to try for a cheap direct replacement. Take your old one in when you go to collect it though as they often supply the wrong part tome and have to work out what I need.

Otherwise, keep an eye on ebay.

Re: Temp gauge broke

This happened to me on our 410. I tried Intermotor and Motorquip senders and both sent the gauge into the red, so they must have had the wrong resistance values. I could have tried the main dealers to get the right part, but what I ended up doing was taking the sender out, drilling a small hole alon...
