Re: Tyres for my SJ

Another vote for Maxxis Bighorns. Spend the extra cash and get the real deal not a remould copy. The extra tech and better compound rubber make a massive difference to road manners over the cheaper stuff. SJs and Vitaras are having their wheels nicked left, right and centre around here which is why...

Re: Tyres for my SJ

Can't say the minor difference has ever been noticeable to me. Winched a Vitara running Maxxis Buckshots out of the mud last week. Then pulled around the Vitara, hooked a strop onto the back of my SJ (Front of Vitara), and drove through the mud that the Vitara had just got stuck in, dragging it alon...

Re: Tyres for my SJ

I used to run the BF-G tyres in a 29, and now run a 31" version of the same tread pattern, just in a Kingpin remould.
Shares the same tread as the Maxxis Buckshot tyres. Brilliant off road, and still half sensible on road too.

Used to run some Recip tyres and they were horrendous on road!

Re: XUD conversion Member cross with a cross member

1" lift on 31"s and a bit of arch/bulkhead trimming and bending. Flexes up well, super-low centre of gravity. A build inspired from Scotties truck. Low centre of gravity really is key, my little SJ proved it's self so much at a Pay&Play last week. Got laughed at as I arrived in it, as ...

My friend has 30" Maxxis muds on a standard Vitara with no clearance issues.

Re: Little day of fun in the woods

Got a bit stuck being a prat. Tried to cross an axle twister but left rear tyre slipped into a deep bomb hole, bottoming my truck out front and rear! haha https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/10888580_10153098451145606_6500473317468529793_n.jpg?oh=c3ed658b4be7b147010266944aa93ede&...

Little day of fun in the woods

Video quality sucks a bit because of the host compressing the file.
