Re: 2.0 16v vitara engine oil and filter

Thanks Scottie Just one more question, I'm changing the discs and pads but once again no information on any of the usual data bases. Are the discs and pads the same as on the 1.6 version? I'm guessing they were upgraded for the 2 litre but I don't fancy stripping the brakes down and taking them into...

Vitara 2.0 16v brakes

Hi all, I've got a year 1999 vitara 2.0 16v that has been standing for about 3 months and now it's time to get it back on the road. I've been starting it up every couple of weeks but today have taken it for a quick run out and have noticed its developed a knocking coming from the front near side whe...

Re: Vitara engine size

Wow! Fair play mate that is my vehicle, can't thank you enough. I've contacted the dvla and told them the situation and they insisted that I need a letter from Suzuki to confirm that someone has balls'd up the v5 at some point. I've been searching the Internet looking for a legit vin number checking...

Re: Vitara engine size

Yeah I think you're right it has to be an import. On the v5 it's just got vitara 2.0 v6 as the model. I'm guessing that when it was imported that was the only 2.0 model on the system???
I will probably go with the insurance company I used last year and have to insure it as v6

Re: Vitara engine size

Ok so now I've checked that the engine number matches the log book (it is a j20a) so my vehicle is a 2.0 16v. I've sent this information off to the dvla (my vitara is a 2.0 v6 on the v5 for some reason). The problem is that my vehicle was first registered in 1999 but I can't find any information onl...

Re: Vitara engine size

Cheers for the photo of the engine number location, I checked it today and it does state that it's a j20 and the number matches the one on the v5 so all is well!

Re: Vitara engine size

That would make sense as the car had only done 55000 miles wth mots to confirm and there is no evidence of an engine change.
I've attached an image of the engine

Vitara engine size

Hi everyone I'm new to this site so please go easy on me! I've got a 1999 T regs vitara 2 door automatic. It says on the log book that it's a 2.0 v6 however the engine is clearly not a v6! I've spoken to Suzuki and they tell me that it originally had a v6 so it must have had an engine change at some...
