How about a Nikki carb, I have just fitted one and apart from throttle and choke cable its a direct fit, The one I got had come from a Beetle and runs fine so jetting must be about right. if the distributer cap is removed the engine will start but only run on manybe one or to cylinders
How does that work then ??????
I deffo sound like a timing issue. Have you moved the distributer ?

I think your right :oops: I have had the same SJ410 for over 10 years now.
