Re: Swapping over shells....

Had a check today, the wiring all seems to be there, so definitely seems a better idea! Quick question, when removing the rear bumper I've noticed there is about 6 earth's going from the lights to the chassis, is that from factory? And I assume some wiring will be different(including even just colou...

Re: Swapping over shells....

I would not swap the dash or wiring unless you really have to. Will make the job take loads longer and there's not really much point. I'm not 100% convinced all the wiring is there with the new shell, but by the sound of it I'd be better checking and wiring the engine and lights up to the dash and ...

Re: Swapping over shells....

Cheers Dan! I didnt realise that, hopefully none of the studs are damaged on the new shell as it was delivered with the body just hard onto the trailer When doing this usually, how do people tackle the wiring? Disconnect the plugs from the lights, engine etc and feed it through bulk head and take it...

Re: Swapping over shells....

Perfect, cheers mate!
I'm converting the rear to disc anyway so will be needing to bleed it afterwards

Plan on starting to get everything ready tomorrow! What bolts are used on the body mounts? I'll see myself tomorrow obviously, but if anyone answered tonight I'd get then ordered just now! Cheers!

Luckily I have new body mounts and got the use of a manitou for the lifting, I do plan to order up new bolts for the mounts though!

Re: brake upgrade

It's more for the fact, as you said the discs don't fill up with mud like the drums do. My next step will be a handbrake too, it's currently the drum type coming off the tbox, i've read mixed reviews about the X-eng. Good once a heavier return spring has been fitted to it? Anyone changed the spring ...
