Re: My latest common sense failure
Good work dude.
Minimal rust really, good your treating it now.
Compared with transits of the same age it's amazing how well built mercs used to be.
Shame to following vans never got the same build quality.

I'm swapping the windscreen over to my other halfs Jimny, the rear props getting swapped over, anything that's better for her road going one. Then it's probably being sold to a friend to be a stable hack moving horse shite and pulling levelers round the paddocks. If not it's up for sale but she's go...

Re: Hot battery
Check the either end of the battery. See if the ends are bulged out. If they are then the battery has sulphated and will struggle holding a charge or provided enough amps on cranking.
If you was trying for a long time to get it started I'd guess a hot battery could be expected.

Re: Hot battery
Warm possibly. Hot sounds like it's shagged.
Has it been left to go flat? Has it been put on charge a lot?

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
I'd whip the stat out and see if that helps with the cooling. If it does , i could have a look in the book at work for you and see if there's a suitable replacement that opens up at a lower temp, thus dropping the heat earlier. Top idea bud. May have a browse in the intermotor book and see if a col...
