Original SJ410

Post by rharris19880 » Sat Apr 22, 2017 9:00 pm

Dear All

I wanted to post a picture of my standard SJ410. Many people on here helped me with advice on tyres, wheels, wheel colour and various other questions so i wanted to post a picture to say thanks and show the results. Hopefully i have attached the picture correctly. She has 50,000 Miles on the clock and runs like a sewing machine. Pictures were taken up the top of Chantry Lane, Storrington, West Sussex last weekend.

Mmmm, if I had an SJ410 that's just the way I'd want it to look. Nice work, don't get it dirty ;)
Just washed, not a leak from the engine!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I used to go up there a lot as I used to live in Steyning. One of my mates used to live at the bottom of Chantry Lane too!
That was when it was actually legal to drive along the south downs way from there, used to drive the tracks all the way to Arundel.
Now though you either have to take a very naughty short cut through the field or drive over the wooden planks...

Although its funny to see that the gate (that way goes down towards Worthing) is still in the same condition it was when I left 2.5 years ago!

Thanks Guys. Twiss, I actually grew up in Storrington, I took the picture when i was visiting my parents a couple of weekends back. I now live in Arundel. I passed my test in 1997 and pretty sure the access was closed even back then. I have been along the top of the downs but only the once and only as a passenger. That was about 1994 from memory with my next door neighbor at the time in a VW beach buggy of all things. Cant re-call how far we got but definitely was not all the way. Real shame it's not still open.
