Steel Diff

Post by r-nottz » Wed Jun 29, 2016 7:26 pm

Ok lads.

Just picked up a steel diff from a 1998 2.0 diesel vitara.

How much do I need to swap from my ally diff into the steel one?

Although my truck is a 1998 model originally with 26 spline front diff but ive fitted front and rear axels of a 1993 22 spline truck. (because I had 4x pairs of front driveshafts from 22spline truck)

Cheers.

It would depend on the ratios of the diffs and what the spline count is of the steel diff. I'm guessing the Diesels have the 26 spline shafts due to the extra torque.

If that's the case you will probably want to swap the case and ring and pinion from your alloy carrier into the steel carrier.
