The monitor coupler should be there but won't have so many wires in it if its an OBD2 vehicle, personally I just use the scan tool to fix the timing. I would have to check the schematic for the GV, some versions of the distributorless G series engines have a resistor to tweak the timing to allow for manufacturing tolerances although they usually have a sticker on the timing cover with the resistor code.
