Hi Scottie, from Kevin and Charlotte. There were a few tears after your dad drove her away but she's gone to a good home and that makes us happy. I'll send some of the pics I took last to your private email and if there's anything you think is worth posting on this thread please feel free. We will drop in to this thread from time to time see how she's doing. Best, Kevin and Lotte.

Hi Kevin. Charlotte did seem quite sad to see it going but as you say its in good hands, can't actually wait to get it back to the workshop to give it a good clean and start swapping bits over onto it. I have a good bonnet, screen surround and a good set of bullbars to go on there already, all in the same colour.

It'll be good to see a sympathetically restored SJ, there aren't many good ones left now.

Cheers guys.

It's home  I forgot to take a picture of the intermediate prop but let's just say I think there was maybe a mile or two left in it max! It's FUBAR! Swapped to a good intermediate prop and go it home. First job was a good clean

So far I've fitted a new screen surround and bonnet, but the bonnet wasn't as good as I remember so I'm going to start looking for a new one, also replaced the driver side mirror and fitted some straight rust free bull bars.

Unfortunately found a little bit more rust underneath I need to sort after I cleaned it, it's about 2" square in the rear arch near the body mount a usual, nothing in comparison to normal though  so next weekend I'm gonna start all the tiny bits of welding and lol at the carb, think I have a weber somewhere in the workshop :brows:

Need to start hunting for some front bumper corners and a passenger side rear sill cover end.

Whoops some 235s found their way on.....a tiny bit of trimming tô the bumper mounts was all that was needed.

Also fitted a new radiator and sorted out the carb today, now runs like a dream.

I went rust hunting! Spotted this when I bought it and had a feeling it might be hiding something! It's not actually that bad underneath but what idiot screws a strip of aluminium over the top of rust :er:

It's not actually that bad underneath it.

This is the worst bit of rust externally apart from a small patch on the bonnet to sort.

Also limited the steering lock this evening and fitted the front sidelights/indicators. Have also done a few bits of welding found under the sills the other week.
