Best bet I can think of if you plan to modify it yourself is to get anything with a fresh MOT. That way you'll know the advisories and can plan ahead. Hope you find one matey.

I paid £155 for mine. My tyres cost me more!

I got lucky. I bought it unseen on ebay. It's got very little rust. It had a myriad of problems, but I left it on the drive and fixed them bit by bit until it got through an MOT.

And I've acquired lots of parts that, bit by bit (just like the MOT issues) I'll get through eventually. Which is the problem with SJ's - modding them is a damned drug!

I know all about that.. as I said earlier I have been reading loads of build threads thinking "That's a rad idea.. them wheels look pretty slick.. I could probably made that.." when I should just be thinking sensibly..

I found that buyers guide in the articles section so I will consult that if anything local comes up.

Cheers

This is in your area then. (If still for sale)

My son owned this earlier this year. (He changes his car very often, four this year) A nice truck that has had a cage fitted since he owned it.

Vitara 1.6 8V engine in it too, very rust free body I recall.

Removable short hard top, and a lift up rear from the top of the pick up. I fitted the bulkhead at the bottom.

I've no idea who owns it now, but my son sent me the link. I don't do Facebook, but you might be able to find it.

Well shreddin' ;)

Still not bought myself a vehicle.. turns out finding a good one is proving much more difficult than I first imagined!!

This one is not too far from me.. anyone familiar with it?
