Blower machanism not fully selecting windscreen only (pics)

Post by Phillips321 » Thu Apr 28, 2016 2:07 pm

Hi guys,

I noticed last night for the first time that the blower wasn't too great on the front windscreen, most of the hot air was coming from the footwell.

It looks like the flap covering the footwell vents isn't fully closing as the mechanism isn't moving fully in the direction required.

This pic shows how far it will move using the heater controls:

And this one here shows it in the correct place after man handling it:

Does anyone know if this is adjustable so that the heater control dial can do it?

Many thanks in advance

I usually just get the control lever on the panel and slide it side to side vigorously. Then theres usually a thunk and the flap moves freely.

Ive done this on my kja, sami and the misses jimny too.

Yup, mine was sticky too at first, so, apart from all these little niggles, are you basically happy with your new Suzuki?

Yep definitely happy with it but like to fix little issues like this ;-) OCD maybe but it's one of those things that will be a bug bear for me!

Picking up some decent tyres for it tonight, then a lift kit maybe next week ;-)

And for an old vehicle it's incredible off road. Really impressed, it puts modern 4x4s to shame.
