Not sure if it's the same method exactly, but I had to order some right angle 'lips' from my dealer to rivet to my 410 wing first, then the plastic flares self tap fix into them.

Have you taken off the LR arches yet to see what you're dealing with first?

Just before you start removing, are you 100% sure you want to take off the LR ones?

They don't look too out of place at all and blend in very well to the body lines :D

Just asking cos fitting the arches could get quite fiddly and you don't know yet if the wings have been left original underneath or if there's any lurking rusty surprises.

Good luck whatever you do, post pics of progress or if there's any probs

Thanks Sherwood,

I really really like the look of the sammi I posted on page 1, also the way the defender arches are fitted, mud and water can get trapped in places which I'm worried may cause rust. Plus the way the defender arches are fitted, I think i Can get them off and back on without much hassle at all.

Seeing how the left side, the roof and the bonnet have quite bad fading, i have even decided to spray my sj a gunmetal grey colour, I have all the gear (but no idea) but it is a skill I would like to learn. I was initially worried this might affect future value with a non original spray job but then I thought, ahh you can't put a price on fun! Haha.

Anyway, i will get some photos up tomorrow whether I fit the new arches or not .

Or you'll find a nice surprise when you take the arches off, I know I did when I removed the Jimny's!

Ahh, everything looks pretty okay under the arches, I can see everything. Still not 100% sure what to do yet but the defender arches are looking a little tatty, the previous owner didn't do the best of jobs!

Oh really? Haha!

So what is needed to fix the samurai arches? The attachments seem further out than the brackets on the sj.

Thanks Sherwood,

I'm taking my sj and boat away for a week in a couple of weeks so I have decide to wait until I'm back to do the arches.
