Twiss' LWB Build

Post by twiss » Thu Dec 29, 2016 6:19 pm

Woooooo!

Finally gots me an LWB for the bargain price of £128.41 :D
Its a 1993 Maruti Gypsy narrow track, should be with 410 engine and gearbox.

Its missing quite a few bits...

- Engine
- Gearbox
- All propshafts
- Shocks
- Various bolts
- Rear seats
- Large sections of the floor

and it probably needs a new rear diff... and the transfer case rebuilding

Going to get it recovered back to my garage tomorrow morning, and will get more pictures!
Then probably go get an engine and gearbox for €50/£42.80 tomorrow, engine is apparently leaking oil into the coolant but Im thinking its just the headgasket.
... and it does come with the other two wheels which i will be collecting as well

Will probably build it similar to mine but only the future will tell!

Although it has a few major issues the main thing is the body looks very sound, will look forward to reading how the rebuild goes, seems a bargain price as well.

lol the maltese equivalent of the friday ad!
Guy initially wanted €350 for it, so I waited a few weeks, and he dropped the price to €150... thought it would be rude not to take it for that

Also, I was having a real good look at it today, and there is quite a bit of rust on the bed surface, but its mostly surface.
I'm going to have to remove all of it and repaint the bed, but its not the end of the world. The most rusty places are exactly where I've done my samurai already

Its an issue when people leave them outside for a couple of years with no roof :(
It rains here, but mostly confined to the winter! But then we tend to get large downpours

Well I like it! Looking forward to this build. Will it be as comfy as your SJ? In other words, A/C, Bluetooth, remote locking massaging seats, night vision, remote starter, leather interior, sat nav, fridge etc....
If it ticks over...leave it
