Vitara Automatic Transmission

Just called in to see my local Suzuki Dealer to talk about the new Suzuki Vitara.
We want Automatic Transmission. He told me it was a dual clutch system, rather than CVT or a Torque Converter.
I am not sure how long Vitaras have had a duel clutch automatic transmission system, but I have read/seen some negative comments about Dual Clutch systems generally. Particularly at slow crawling speeds as the software tries to anticipate what you will do next.
Assuming Dual Clutch Automatics are fairly new to the Vitara, does anyone have any comments on Vitara Automatic Transmission using this technology.
Thanks in advance.

Mine has been absolutely fine, and certainly less undecided than my Freelander2. I have done 12000 miles on a 68 plate.

Mine's a 16 plate 1.6 petrol, so obviously can't comment on the newer engines, but I've been pleased with my auto box.

I have a 16 plate diesel auto from new. High mileage now.
When 1 yo it would only select even gears on a long journey. I drove it to my dealer without stopping. When dealer checked it he could find no problem.
Recently it did the same thing. Again problem disappeared after a restart.
I was advised that an oil change was required.
A specialist car inspector advised not to change the oil as volvo owners had experienced failure after oil changes due to only 1 side of the box filling with oil.
I suspect that the problem is in the hydraulic change unit that sits on top of the box but info is scarce.
I understand that Fiat uses the same box.
