Thanks, progress is slow and steady but she's getting there!

Bit of an update,

I fitted the new seat and float needle valve last week and it was still flooding.

I had plumbed the float overflow pipe back to the fuel return line that the original carb used. I thought this would be safer in the event of a fuel spill from the carb. Well, it appears this has been the source of my issues for weeks! Not sure why I didn't think to check it sooner! 😑

It looks as though the fuel return line was somehow pressurising the float chamber and pushing fuel up the needle jet!

I've just fitted a piece of hose to drain to the chassis leg and it's run fine for 50 or so miles. 😎

Yeah, it was a good course. Not much to look at in the show itself unless you own a land Rover though!

Hi all,

I'm giving some serious thought to selling my Samurai

With a small child and another on the way the Samurai is increasingly being left undriven for weeks at a time!

Spec is as per most recent photos in previous posts, (I've changed back to halogen headlights as the LED were pants)

Running standard drivetrain, G16A with SU carb, like new Maxxis bighorns, brand new battery, warrior winch with plasma rope, 10 months MOT remaining etc.

It's got a brilliant winch bumper along with tree slider and a solid rear bumper.

I basically built it to be a very capable laning / trialling machine but the reality is I'm not using it for what it's meant for.

It's had welding in some of the normal places prior to me owning it but it's generally pretty solid all over. Been garaged for 95% of the 5 years I've owned it.

What's it worth? :hmm:
