body swap

Post by muddy kev » Thu Oct 09, 2008 9:45 pm

Hi, i have a very modified sammy soft top but its only a 2 seater. now need extra seat in the back but dont want 2 lose the extra axle width of the sammy over the 410 so want to fit the 410 body on 2 the sammy chassis, does anyone know of any problems doing this?

the sammy is slope back with roll cage plus its spent 2 long in the water so a bit rusty. well alot rusty really lol. i have a 410 thats in good condition so thought would be easier 2 swap bodies as sammy is converted 2 diesel with mod. suspension etc

To the best of my knowledge the bodys are interchangeable.

Technical stuff like the wiring loom you want to keep the original in place as they differ!

When the 410 body is off it may be worth comletly stripping it and looking for tin worm and replacing any bits that are going, and completly sealing the underneath, then you know you have a good solid body.

just my two penns worth!

they r both exactly the same ya shouldnt have any problems at all i always find that the arches r always in alot better condition on the 410's must have something to do with water getting trapped behind the arches of the samurai.

Story of my life!

Best of luck! hope it goes smoothly!!!

why not fit a body lift whilst the body is off! make more room under your arches?
