ARB not switching off

Post by bingen » Fri Aug 12, 2011 11:54 am

When I switch the pump on for my arb locker, it usually runs for a few seconds and then when I switch the locker on, the pump would go for a couple seconds until the unit is engaged.
Now, the pump still does the same thing, but when the rear locker (I only have the one) is engaged, the pump no longer switches off after a couple seconds and it just keeps going.....

So what gives?...is this normal?....you think there's a leak?...

Sounds like a probable cause. That's what my compressor did when a hose split.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Yeah sounds like a split hose to me as well...
That's why I think I like electric lockers instead... then it's only a bit of wire ;)

Yep damaged air line! Or not enough oil in the axle.. The o rings in the arb slip ring need oil to completely seal! If the level is low then they will pass.

thanks all, got it fixed. Twas a leak at the coupler near the diff...i guess it must've gotten caught on some debris. tied it up with some zip tie to the frame.
