Once I have the front diff changed I'll be staying 4.3 and then sort the transfer box with some reduction gears. Im also considerkng rhe 26 spline front shafts so i cannuse 2 un modified rear diffs, ease of use. Follow your original advice scottie just 4 years later

Also, I learnt that there's a difference in power steering mounts and maybe pumps. That's between a vitara 16v and a jimny I think mine is. 10mm diffsrence in the mounting points but bolts up. Caught me out.

That might just work. I don't have any multi spline sockets that big but it's worth seeing if I can get some. Get that front diff sorted and a refresh of front axle and I might get a break. So gearing wise, the 4.3 rear diff with samurai transfer box, works OK with the 16v but makes you drive faster...

So I tried a rear 4.3 diff with the samurai box just because I could and it's a fair difference in gearing, the engine is much quieter and pulls no problems but it definitely highlights how un aero dynamic an sj is at 70! Wind noise is unr...

I wish! Iv ordered some jimny vvti diffs to see how it fares with abit longer legs now it has more power. See if it gets closer to a luxury motor than an off roader
