Re: Dans Zook
Got quite a bit done last week then had an epic weekend with Scottie getting the virtual lift all in place. (Thanks Again) Now I've just gotta spend my evenings stitching it all up
All the last load of welding painted in red oxide primer
Trims removed to reveal the problem
Cut away to the bottom of the pressed arc shape behind
Both sides cut back apart from behind the headlights
Rear with trim off
Rear cut away
Bulkhead cut out
One rear all tacked up
And the other
Area behind headlight moved back
Nearly all tacked in
GROUND ZERO
Finally we had to give the front clip a try
Its looking very nice now. Feels like real progress has been made!
Welder seems to be playing up now so will have to look at that tomorrow.

Re: Dans Zook Build
Bit of an update
I put the body on hold to sort the chassis during the nice weather we had. Chassis is now painted.
I have since been doing little bits and pieces and made a start on the engine etc. because the recent heavy wind destroyed the gazeebo!
The body is wrapped in a tarp and i'm waiting untill the wind calms down a bit (Hopefully tomorrow) to try bodge the gazeebo back together for the last push!
Removed everything from the chassis to try get as good a clean as I could
Painted it in red oxide
Then the grey transformer paint I borrowed from work
I have also got round to modifying the oil pick-up to fit the SJ sump on the 1600 (Still needs the bracket tidying up)
Just need a really big session on the body now and get it all back together.
Got a nice Suzuki Baleno exhaust to use from the manifold to the back (only has a tiny middle box and its virtually straight) then I'm gunna stick a Cherry Bomb backbox next to the tank for a nice roar
Got a modified inlet manifold for the SU on the way aswell to aid the breathing further.
Still working at the weekends at the moment so progress on this is slow.

Re: Dans Zook Build BIG UPDATE!
The wind has died down so I have just constructed Gazebo-Garage MK3
Looking stronger than any of the previous efforts
had to cut bits out of poles where they were bent or snapped so some were slightly shorter than others but as its on a slight slope its worked out to be perfectly level!
Hopefully It can hold till the bodys finished. Best get on with it!

Re: Dans Zook Build
chassis has now got a nice shiney top coat on it.
not much point posting a pic as it looks exactly the same as a few posts back but it does mean I can start putting it back together.
I need to replace the fuel lines. Does anyone know what is suitable to use?
I need to do the bigger feed one and the return

Re: Dans Zook Build
When I replaced mine I just went and found rubber fuel hosing the same diameter sizes as the hoses going from my pump to the old metal chassis hoses.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
