Well while i was there i managed to loose the solenoid and all its internals.
Whats left of it now...
Also managed to get rid of the fuel tank guard on some rocks and re-mold the fuel tank
I was pondering one night about these two...
PUGZUKI
What do you lot think?

well i think the pug diesel (i take it, it is a derv!) is one of the best out there..loads of torque and as your well aware off, bril on fuel economy.. fitted in a light weight truck like a sj, the only proplem you may have is transmision breakages. (thats if you really abuse it)..

Yerp its the 1.9 TDI with top mounted intercooler.
To make it work i would need a LDV pilot (or similar) gear box and mover the intercooler.
It shouldnt break too much stuff as the gearing is dead low on it and i dont abuse it too much. Its just a lot of down time for the truck if i decide to do it

i think what i would do,, is find a scrap sj (its a shame your so far away, as im scrapping one).
and trial fit eveything into it, including engine mounts (just tack weld them), make up a engine loom etc. then its just a matter of when your ready, pull the motor out of yours, and install your pug engine. simples!! as the mearcat would say. i used do do it that way when i done engine transplants on volkswagens, saves downtime on the car..

Thats a good plan but i think we are looking at cashing it in with this new govt policy and spend the money on the sj

nice work! it would help if the standard suzuki tank guards weren't made of tin foil! i've often wondered how long mine's going to last!
